This Week’s Theme: Plates
Canadian fine artist, Jacqueline Poirier (The Crazy Plate Lady) painted (YES! painted) these very realistic strips of bacon onto this simple white plate. To those who imbibe in bacon…it’s a cruel joke. To those who don’t…whew! Regardless, her artistry for realism is amazing. With many of her plate paintings, she is the master of illusion.
About her art she states:
My business is adding personality to peoples homes. When you bring a smile to someones face, before they even get to the table. That’s what it’s all about.
Currently she is the Resident Artist at The Ritz Carlton in Toronto where her hand painted charger plates are showcased throughout TOCA, the hotel’s signature restaurant.
Check out more of her amazing and mind-boggling plate art via her online portfolio.
Inspiration
“The ego is only an illusion, but a very influential one. Letting the ego-illusion become your identity can prevent you from knowing your true self. Ego, the false idea of believing that you are what you have or what you do, is a backwards way of assessing and living life.” ~ Wayne Dyer
Happy Coloring!
