This Week’s Theme: Tables.
Wood artist David Galey of Woodtones Designs created this beautiful segmented wood end table that makes for a perfect mandala design.
About this table he states:
This end table is wormy maple and walnut that was naturally air cured for about 2 years. … The lumber for this piece came into the shop as a rough cut planks, it was then planed and the pieces cut and assembled.
About himself he states:
This all started with my Father. Unlike his son who had many hobbies, my Dad only ever did woodworking. So at a very early age I was in the shop holding up boards as they came off the saw, glueing and nailing, and sanding, and sanding, and sanding. A few years ago my Dad retired from the shop and since that time I have been revamping the shop with some new equipment etc. and working on creations of my own. My entire working career has been in engineering so my pieces are functional by nature.
“A society’s competitive advantage will come not from how well its schools teach the multiplication and periodic tables, but from how well they stimulate imagination and creativity.” ~ Albert Einstein
