This week’s theme: Veggies
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: Veggies (from Sunday’s MotD post). So interesting thing here…I used different vegetables as my inspiration for this design. As it turns out, two of the vegetables just happened to be considered as fruits: cucumbers and tomatoes. Go fig 🙂 Anyway, I liked and used the colors of the watermelon radish from a MotD earlier this week and now this mandala looks more like a watermelon than some mash-up of veggies. Oh well…that’s how it works sometimes. I think my subconscious wanted to let me know that “we” like fruits better than vegetables. 🙂
I used Holbein and Golden acrylic paints with Golden iridescent paint, with black, yellow, and white gel pens to “energize” the mandala even more so than it already was energized.
Soon I’ll be posting images of my progress through this painting on my ArtProgressions.com blog site.
Inspiration for Today
“We don’t need a melting pot in this country, folks. We need a salad bowl. In a salad bowl, you put in the different things. You want the vegetables – the lettuce, the cucumbers, the onions, the green peppers – to maintain their identity. You appreciate differences.”
~ Jane Elliott
Happy Coloring!
