My coloring progress for today:

Last Sunday I facilitated the community painting of my street mandala design: “The Eclipse Rides Through Corvallis“. Over 30 volunteers helped make this happen; some were there all day!
I’m used to creating art by myself, so to paint with some many other people, most of whom were new to me, was an amazing and extraordinary experience. (I’d happily do it again!)
The colors used in today’s mandala were colors used with the eclipse mandala. In looking at the colors from the chakra perspective, I realized the energies of this colors beautiful reflect what happened that day.
“Orange” – 2nd (Sacral) Chakra: creativity. Here was an opportunity for all of us to let our creative spirit fly.
“Yellow” – 3rd (Solar Plexus) Chakra: power, drive, motivation. As a group we all came together excited to do what we could to make this mandala happen.
“Green” – 4th (Heart) Chakra: love. We all put our hearts and souls into this project. Everyone cared about it, and how it turned out. We all strived to do our best.
“Blue” 5th (Throat) Chakra: expression. With this project, we were all given the chance to express our support for the upcoming “Open Streets” event promoting cycling (on August 20); as well as, the highly anticipated upcoming total solar eclipse (August 21).
So today’s doodle mandala reflects the interconnectedness and support of community who came together with heart, drive, spirit, joy, and tenacity. Even when we were hot and tired, we persisted to make this project come to fruition. It was a great day for all of us.
About the Mandalas of the Day:
I post a variety of in-progress art for that day which can include mandalas from the Mandala of the Week, the Mandala of the Month, the Mandala of the Year, or the Mandala Meditation Stones.
Happy Coloring!
joyfully, Maureen
