Today I started on the tenth sign of the Astrological Wheel: Capricorn – The Goat.
My coloring progress for today:

1 – we start with the design
2 – add warm green to center angular sections
3 – add a lighter warm green to the “frame” of the center sections
4 – add a warm yellow to the curvy sections of the symbol
5 – full view of today’s progress
In 2012 I created a hyperbolic tessellation mandala for each of the zodiac signs. For Capricorn, its symbol is represented as the hoof of a goat and a fish tail. It’s interesting to me how the yellow sections look like tracks around the mandala, going in all directions. The green sections look like camera shutters.
With Capricorn being a very earthy sign, the mandala felt like it needed some warm earthy tones…at least to start out. We’ll see what happens on Day 2. 🙂
