Have a Heart
“In prayer it is better to have a heartMahatma Gandhi
without words than words without a heart.”
Your work is to discover your world and— Buddha
then with all your heart give yourself to it.”
“Put your heart, mind, intellect— Swami Sivananda
and soul even into your smallest acts.
This is the secret of success.”
Today’s MotD asks us: ”what’s in our hearts?” and ”what’s radiating from our hearts?”
Too often we shut down our hearts to protect them from pain and suffering without realizing it shuts down everything: mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Or, we shut them down because we ”think” we have to rely solely on our brains for the answers and guidance.
When we quiet our minds, it allows our hearts to be heard more clearly. Let’s face it, we humans are complex beings with complex components. If we can just slow down for a minute or two, we can allow ourselves to receive all the insight we need by checking in with our whole self and trusting its message.
