“Water is the driving force of all nature.”— Leonardo da Vinci
“The most powerful weapon on earth— Ferdinand Foch
is the human soul on fire.”
“The Earth does not belong to us:— Chief Seattle
we belong to the Earth.”
“Our most basic common link— John F. Kennedy
is that we all inhabit this planet.
We all breathe the same air.
We all cherish our children’s future.
And we are all mortal.”
Today’s MotD reminds us of the main elements of our existence, the essentials: fire, earth, air, and water. Along with the literal needs, are the psyche needs: passion, groundedness, energy, and flow.
In the chakra energy system, red is the color of the root chakra. It’s located at the base of the spine. From the Onyx Integrative Medicine and Aesthetics: “The Root Chakra represents whatever it is in our lives that make us feel grounded. These needs can be different for each individual person, but usually include our basic physical necessities such as food, water, and shelter, but also extends to our emotional needs of feeling safe and interconnected.”
When feeling too much in our heads with nervous energy and worry, focus on the root chakra by doing something earth bound: walking in nature, gardening, dance, hug a loved one, hug a tree, or breathe into the base of the spine.
