Sacred Space
“At first you might find
— Joseph Campbell
that nothing happens there.
But if you have a sacred space
and use it, eventually
something will happen.
Your sacred space
is where you can find yourself
again and again.”
“Give yourself the permission
— Dr. Debra Reble
to pause to create sacred space –
the space to consciously choose
how you want to respond
to any situation.”
“We each have a sacred space
— Christopher Penczak
within us, a part of us.
This sacred space is a temple,
a temple to our inner power,
our intuition, and
our connection with the divine.”
Today’s MotD reminds us to regularly visit our sacred space, a place where we can rest, reconnect with the Divine energy within us, and be at peace. We can designate or create an external sacred space (a place in nature, a personal altar, a church, an area in our home, a piece of art) and/or we can create an internal one, a place where we go within our mind or heart through daydreams, visualization, or meditation.
The beauty of an internal sacred space is that we can always take it with us and go there as needed (stuck in traffic, in line at the grocery store, at a business meeting, doing chores, etc). It’s only a breath away and can give us just the boost we need at a moment’s notice.
The beauty of an external space is that it can gently remind us of our Divine connection when we may be distracted with day-to-day life. It can be just the cue we need to help break the spell.
“Sacred spaces can be created
— Christy Turlington
in any environment.”
