22-230 Quilt

Today’s Mandala
Quilt

“Life is less a quest than a quilt.
We find meaning, love, and prosperity
through the process of stitching together
our bold attempts to help others
find their own way in their lives.
The relationships we weave
become an exquisite
and endless pattern.”

— Keith Ferrazzi

“Take your needle, my child,
and work at your pattern;
it will come out a rose by and by.
Life is like that
– one stitch at a time taken patiently
and the pattern will come out all right
like the embroidery.”

— Oliver Wendell Holmes

“If each person in this world
will simply take a small piece
of this huge thing,
this amazing quilt,
and work it regardless
of the color of the yarn,
we will have harmony
on this planet.”

— Cicely Tyson

Today’s MotD reminds us that our lives are like quilts; pieces of fabric (events) stitched together to form the greater whole. While the individual pieces may vary in color, size, quality, quantity, shape, etc; it all has a way of coming together to make one cohesive quilt. Take out any piece and the quilt loses its essence.

Our challenge becomes embracing all of our “pieces”…for they are what make up our lives up to this point. And if right now it feels like the quilt is incomplete, lost, off balance, that’s okay, more pieces are coming. With awareness and conscious thought, we can choose to direct how we want our quilt to go from here. It’s literally in our hands.
