Today’s Mandala
Fountain
“Be like the fountain
— Paulo Coelho
that overflows,
not like the cistern
that merely contains.”
“There is a fountain of youth:
— Sophia Loren
it is your mind, your talents,
the creativity you bring to your life
and the lives of people you love.
When you learn to tap this source,
you will truly have defeated age.”
“That which the fountain sends forth
— Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
returns again to the fountain.”
Today’s MotD reminds us that we are limitless and that we access to an infinite source of ideas, creativity, love, and light. Our challenge becomes learning how to tap into our limitless-ness, our infinite fountain of all that is. All we need do is dip our toes into it at first, test the waters so to speak. We can do that best by setting an intention to do so, then be still and allow whatever it is that wants to flow forward to come forth. We can also use our dreams with the same intention. As we gain more confidence, we can allow ourselves to fully submerge into the waters of the infinite fountain on a more regular basis.
On a personal note: In the early days of creating mandalas, I had the thought-question: what if I run out of ideas? That night I dreamt I watched a super-fast, endless slideshow, and on each slide was a different mandala. At first I panicked because I wanted to remember them all. Upon waking I understood it to mean: stop worrying, there’s an endless supply, you’ll never run out.
With each passing day of doing the mandalas of the days, I’m in awe of how each day a new mandala idea flows forth. Just when I start to think I might run out of ideas…I dip into the fountain and voila…it makes itself known.
