22-271 Preparation

Today’s Mandala
Preparation

“Luck is a matter of
preparation meeting opportunity.”

— Lucius Antaeus Seneca

“The best preparation for tomorrow
is doing your best today.”

— H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

“A strong, positive self-image
is the best possible preparation
for success.”

— Dr. Joyce Brothers

Today’s MotD encourages us to be prepared for whatever it is we’re wanting to create for ourselves. If we want to someday be a professional singer, we can practice singing, maybe work with a vocal coach, and find opportunities to sing wherever we are (skill-wise, location-wise, etc). If we want someday to write a book, we can practice writing, take writing classes, join a creative writing support group, do research. If we want someday to visit some far-away place, we can find out how best to get there, learn when it’s the best time to go, research places to stay and how to get around, if they speak a different language maybe we could learn it or at least learn enough to get by.

In other words, there’s always something we can be doing in preparation of achieving our goal. Our challenge becomes staying on task especially when it seems like the goal seems so far off. We are encouraged to do at least one thing each day (if possible) towards our goal(s), even if it’s only to review the information we’ve already gathered…it may spark another idea of something else we can do.

“What we are waiting for
is not as important
as what happens to us
while we are waiting.
Trust the process.”

— Mandy Hale
