Today’s Mandala
Wheel
“There are many spokes
— Ray Charles
on the wheel of life.
First, we’re here to explore
new possibilities.”
“Colors must fit together
— Hans Hofmann
as pieces in a puzzle
or cogs in a wheel.”
“Divinity is in its omniscience
— Hildegard of Bingen
and omnipotence like a wheel,
a circle, a whole,
that can neither be understood,
nor divided, nor begun nor ended.”
Today’s MotD reminds us that, like a wheel, we are whole and complete, no beginning, no ending. What may seem at times like we’re going in circles is really more like a spiral. Each time we come full circle, we’re actually at a different angle, giving us a different perspective with new insight we are now ready to receive. All in due time.
Our challenge becomes recognizing the cycles, the turns of the wheel. What new thing can we glean this time? It could be that this time we handled it differently, that we see the growth that was difficult to notice because the transformation was slow and subtle.
“In order to share
— Criss Jami
one’s true brilliance
one initially has to risk
looking like a fool:
genius is like a wheel
that spins so fast,
it at first glance
appears to be sitting still.”
