Life
“Life isn’t about finding yourself.
— George Bernard Shaw
Life is about creating yourself.”
“Nothing in life is to be feared,
— Marie Curie
it is only to be understood.
Now is the time to understand more,
so that we may fear less.”
“It takes half your life
— Napoleon Hill
before you discover
life is a do-it-yourself project.”
Today’s MotD reminds us that life is a journey, a moment-to-moment experience with new opportunities for growth and expansion. It’s ours to make the most of or squander away or anything in between. Our challenge becomes embracing the fact that we alone are responsible for the choices we make, the actions we take, and the paths we traverse.
Too often we stall out on our lives because we’re unclear as to our purpose. The Dalai Lama makes it quite simple for us: “Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.” So our second challenge becomes discovering what it is that we’re good at that also brings us joy and then doing “that” in service to others…it becomes a win-win for everyone. That’s life.
“Life isn’t a matter of milestones,
— Rose Kennedy
but of moments.”
