Today’s MotD asks us to ponder the idea that we are here to have an experience…one experience after another based on “what ifs” and free will. For instance “I wonder what it would be like to be born into a dysfunctional family?”, or “What if I choose to do ‘option b’, what would that experience be like?”, and so on.
Our challenge becomes playing with the idea that everything is an opportunity to have an experience. It puts us more in observer mode than victim or victimizer mode. While we are having “an experience” (especially when we’re in observer mode) we get to choose where the experience goes next, we get to choose how we want to respond to this current experience, and we get to choose how we want to change it. Even if it seems impossible to think of any possible way to change a current experience, at the very least we have the opportunity to change how we see it and feel about it.
When in doubt, we can always ask the Powers That Be to: “help me see this differently.”
