23-080 Take Action #3

Today’s Mandala Message: Go for it…make adjustments…go for it again.

Continuing with Principle #13 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Take Action, I set my intention today to ponder Canfield’s idea of “ready-fire-aim”. Yeah, you’re seeing that correctly. He states: “Most people are familiar with the phrase “ready, aim, fire!” The problem is that too many people spend their whole life aiming and never firing. They are always getting ready, getting it perfect.” He suggests that we get ready and then fire. If it misses the mark, re-adjust (re-aim) and fire again. Keep adjusting as needed.

I admit that in the past I wanted everything to be just right before I took any action. My fifth grade teacher once told my mother that it would take at least five minutes for me to start on any test because I kept adjusting the paper, the test, my pen/pencil, and how I was sitting. Everything has to be just so.

I have since learned to ease up a bit and trust in the process. I adopted a new mantra given to me years ago: “strive for excellence”…which to me means, continue to strive to do better the next time.

So how about you? Does everything have to be perfect before you take action? Do you need to have all the right tools and have taken all the right classes before you advance?

“Many people die
with their music
still in them.
Why is this so?
Too often it is because
they are always
getting ready to live.
Before they know it,
time runs out.”
