Today’s Mandala Message: Build Momentum

This week I’m working through Principle #16 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Be Willing to Pay the Price”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of building momentum. “Creating momentum is an important part of the success process. In fact, successful people know that if you are willing to pay the price in the beginning, you can reap the benefits for the rest of your life.”

To create momentum requires action…even if it’s a small step forward. I find that looking at a blank canvas can be daunting and yet once I start painting, it seems to go much easier, and builds upon itself. Coloring today’s MotD was like that. At first I just stared at the design. I knew it wanted to be done with pen and ink, that’s all I had to go on. I “saw” the thin lines in the center background area first and started there. As I continued to work on it, I “saw” as I was finishing a section (row, area), how the next section wanted to look. The momentum of that flow, kept me going on this piece until I finished it.

If you need some ideas on how to create momentum, I found this helpful article by Brandon Baker on LifeHack.org where he shares Three Strategies to Build Momentum in Life and Find Success.

So how about you? Is there something you can start today that will create momentum for you to keep going with it on a regular (daily) basis?

“What’s most important
is that you just start creating.
Even if you don’t know
what you’ll create
or where it will end up.
Just start.
There is power
in momentum.”
