23-131 Be Selective #5

Today’s Mandala Message: Do the Next Right Thing

This week I’m working through Principle #25 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Drop Out of the ‘Ain’t It Awful’ Club…And Surround Yourself With Successful People”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of doing the next right thing which requires that I be present and selective about what I do next. This is a little bit away from what Canfield is talking about. Throughout this principle he shares stories about people who became successful by being selective about who they hung out with.

Today I’m feeling the pulled to be selective with my actions. This is something I would definite front doing more often. Usually I’ll tackle the next thing that grabs my attention…the next “shiny” thing. And yet, when I stop to check in, I’m often nudged in a different direction which proves to be more beneficial than the direction I was headed.

A good mindfulness practice would be to keep asking: what’s the next right thing for me to do?

So how about you? Do you often operate on automatic pilot? Do you check in with yourself to determine what the next right thing is to do?

“Have the courage
to say no.
Have the courage
to face the truth.
Do the right thing
because it is right.
These are the magic keys
to living your life
with integrity.
