Today’s Mandala Message: Be honest with yourself
This week I’m working through Principle #30 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Face What Isn’t Working”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of being honest with myself…when it comes to what’s not working.
Canfield states: “…if we just acknowledged [a] bad situation sooner, it would often be less painful to resolve. It would be cheaper, the circumstances might be more beneficial, the problems would be easier to solve, we could be more honest with everyone concerned, we would feel better about ourselves, and we would certainly have more integrity.”
Honestly? It all seems to come down to our (my) fears as to why we (I) deny rather than face things. More times than not, when I do face things honestly they have turned out for the better. And when it comes to people, it often turns out that they were feeling the same way.
A good mindfulness practice would be to allow ourselves to see the truth.
So how about you? What truths are you ignoring? What fears are behind your denials? What would it take to honestly face what’s not working?
“Honesty is often very hard.

The truth is often painful.
But the freedom it can bring
is worth the trying.”
