Today’s Mandala Message: Give of Your Time
This week I’m working through Principles #61 and #62: Give More to Get More and Find a Way to Serve of Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles”. We continue with more money principles (56-62) and our relationship with it. I set my intention today to ponder ways I give of my time. Canfield states: “Time tithing is volunteering your time to serve your church, temple, or synagogue, or any charity that could use your help.” I would modify this sentence to ‘volunteering your time to help someone who could use your help’…why limit it?
When I do readings, a question that comes up a lot is “what is my purpose?” For me, it’s a simple two part answer: do what you love…and help people by doing that…and if you can make money doing that…bonus!
I, myself, have come to realize that my purpose is to inspire and encourage creativity, curiosity, and play by way of mandalas and mandala art. One of the ways I go about being of service is to volunteer my time creating mandalas that are free to download and color via my blog sites: MandalaoftheWeek.com, MandalaoftheMonth.com, and MandalaoftheYear.com. I also do the MandalaoftheDay.com where I ‘paint’ a mandala everyday and then post it along with its message and insights.
A good mindfulness practice would be to ponder ways you can be of service with your time.
So how about you? What ways can you time tithe? Is there something you love to do that could be of service to someone else? Are there outside-the-box ways you can give of your time?
