Today’s Mandala Message: What’s Important to You?
This week I’m working through Principles #61 and #62: Give More to Get More and Find a Way to Serve of Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles”. We continue with more money principles (56-62) and our relationship with it. I set my intention today to ponder being of service around something that’s important to me. Canfield states: “The greatest levels of contentment and self-satisfaction are experienced by those who have found a way to serve others… Take some time to determine what causes and groups of people are important to you.”
He then goes into ideas about how a business could help organizations and groups, which didn’t exactly line up with my skill set. For me, I would much rather help people in general by offering ways for them to tap into their creativity, their curiosity, and their play. I mostly accomplish this via the free mandalas I offer to download and color: MandalaoftheWeek, MandalaoftheMonth, and MandalaoftheYear.
I’m realizing as I write this that I’m feeling the pull to expand on what I offer (hopefully being of even greater service)…how that will look, I’m not sure at the moment. My theme for 2024 is to “Experience Joy Through Curiosity and Play” (2023 is/was about expansion and growth). This theme for me will mostly revolve around mandalas. If you choose to adopt it for yourself, you can apply it to anything that’s important to you and makes your heart sing:
“Experience Joy Through Curiosity and Play with my garden”,
“Experience Joy Through Curiosity and Play with my job”
“Experience Joy Through Curiosity and Play with my (grand)children”
“Experience Joy Through Curiosity and Play with an organization”,
“Experience Joy Through Curiosity and Play while traveling”
and so on…
A good mindfulness practice would be to contemplate what’s important to you when it comes to being of service.
So how about you? In what ways are you of service to others? Is it a cause that’s important to you? What skill set or knowledge that’s important to you can you offer that could help others, be it an organization or people in general?
“The truly important things
— Neus Figueras
are those that make you
happier if you share them,
than if you keep them
for yourself.”
