“being obvious without any attempt to be hidden”
This word is often used in a judgmental way…as if to say “how dare she/he/they be so bold!” And yet, the definition provided here is quite neutral. Chances are, the people who say such things, are, deep down, actually envious. They may even say something like “Oh, I could never be like that”—when in reality they secretly _do_ want to be like that.
Today’s MotD wants us to take a look at what we keep hidden, where do we hold back, what part of ourselves could use some “being obvious”?
I admit that when it comes to being a mandala artist, I don’t make it obvious to others unless I feel “safe” from being negatively judged or criticized. (this raises another issue for me: why do I care about being judged by other people? — I’ll process this another time) And because I don’t make it obvious, of course it affects my business. How can I wonder why people aren’t buying my art when I don’t even make them available for purchase? Good question.
And forget about being obvious about being a physic/intuitive. That sets me up for even more judgment and criticism. As stated previously: How can I wonder why people aren’t signing up for readings when I don’t promote my services? Yes, I have it on my website but you’d have to know that I offer it in order to look for it on my site.
I feel like today’s MotD is giving me permission to own what I do, to be brazen about my art and my abilities. Yes, some people will be judgmental, but most will not…at least that has been my experience of late as I let more people know what I do.
How about you? Is brazen a core value for you?
btw…here’s what it looked like before:

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
