“the quality of being careful about what you say or do, especially to avoid danger, mistakes, or risks”
Looking at the definition for today’s MotD, I can see the validity of being careful. It definitely warrants our attention. Of course we want to minimize our dangers, mistakes, and risks. However, there is such a thing as being too careful.
As I look at how this turned out and examine it from my own personal perspective, it feels like I may be too cautious when it comes to putting myself and my art out in the world. Yes, I post on social media and I have these blog sites, so technically I’m “out” except that there’s a part of me that is holding back…that it’s not safe for me to be fully out, to be brazen.
For me, the “blobs” I see in this painting represent my fears and limiting beliefs. With the two biggest ones being “fear of being laughed at or ridiculed” and “fear of being a disappointment to me and to others (ie: fear of not living up to my own or others’ expectations)”.
Again looking at today’s MotD, I see a “mandala” that wants to come out from behind these “blobs” so it can fully shine. On the plus side, it does show me that I’ve come a long way and that I don’t have that far to go to be totally out…and free from my fears.
How about you? Is cautiousness a core value for you?
btw…here’s what it looked like before:

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
