Wit

“the ability to use words or ideas in an amusing, clever, and imaginative way”

I would include puns as a form of being witty. In high school I used to bring my friends to tears…not because I was so punny…but because I wouldn’t stop with the puns. I just couldn’t help myself. I still love to do puns but in my elder years, I’ve learned to do them in moderation.

To be witty or to get other people’s witicisms, one needs to be mindful, to be on the alert for witty opportunities, and requires a health sense of humor…all of which our world could use in much larger doses these days…imho.

And why a rabbit today? Well…I noticed the circle first (head) and drew it. Then I noticed the left ear shape coming off the top of the circle and drew it. I still didn’t pick up on the rabbit. Then I saw the other “ear” to the right and drew it. That’s when I knew. In my mind I questioned it at first…then I remembered today’s theme. The rest just fell into place.

It’s also a great reminder about the core meaning of mandalas…the word translates as “circle”. And when it comes to learning how to draw animals, teachers use circles and eclipses to designate the different areas of the body to make them easier to draw.

How about you? Is wit a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
