Likability

“having qualities that bring about favorable regard”

What does it take to be likable? Kindness. Manners. Easy-going nature. Calm demeanor. An interest other people. Confidence. Consideration of others. A heartfelt smile. A good sense of humor. Any one and all of these will suffice however without coming from a place of authenticity it can fall flat and come across as disingenuous.

A good place to start practicing these traits would be to apply them to ourselves. In what ways can we be likable to ourselves? How can we show kindness to ourselves? How can we achieve a calm demeanor within? How can we be considerate of ourselves? and so on.

When we can do this for ourselves—when we can have favorable regard towards ourselves—we can come from a place of authenticity with others—thus earning their favorable regard.

How about you? Is likability a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
