Don’t Panic

This week we focus on “Guidance”. Today’s MotD reminds us that being panicked doesn’t help. Stop. Breathe. Be still. And ask for guidance. This is when I pull out my go-to ask: help me see this differently. Some form of guidance or insight usually comes immediately…like another door in my consciousness just opened with different option.

Years ago I had a horrible argument with my father, who I was visiting for a few days. I didn’t want to leave without it being resolved in some way and yet I couldn’t see past it. So that night I asked my Team to help be see this situation differently because I didn’t know how I was going to resolve it.

The next morning I woke up from a dream where I was told “does a bear reveal itself on the bright side”. Weird, I know and yet, I knew exactly what it meant. When my father goes into a rage, as he had done in this situation, it feels like I’m being verbally attacked by a bear: he seems to get bigger with his arms flailing about. Interestingly, when he is in a rage, though, that’s when he reveals some truth about himself that he would never talk about in a casual conversation. So when I heard that phrase, I understood completely and immediately all the anger and anxiety I was holding onto dissipated. So much so, that by the time I left to return home, we both told each other we were glad I came to visit.

How about you? When a problem appears do you panic? Do you go into flight-flight-freeze mode? Are you open to catching yourself the next time you’re in panic mode, to stop and ask for guidance instead?

BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day

Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.

Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.

Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
