Own the Endeavor
Our focus this week — Oct 22-28: “Paying Dues”
Today’s MotD: Own the Endeavor. We’re encouraged to own the endeavor (goal, project, quest), whatever it may be. Our challenge becomes how best to manage obstacles that (may) appear along the way. Are they there to stop us, telling us we’re going in the wrong direction ? Sometimes. Or is it more likely that they are there to test our resolve, challenging us to invest more of ourselves in the endeavor. They’re usually about our expansion, pushing the envelope, stretching ourselves beyond our comfort zone.
I’m reminded of the original “Wizard of Oz” movie where Dorothy and her companions followed the yellow brick road with the hopes of meeting the Wizard who would “give” them what they wanted. They met and overcame one obstacle after another along the way.
What they didn’t realize until the end was that the endeavor, the overcoming of their obstacles, fulfilled their quest…the Wizard just gave them the “evidence” that they succeeded. For Dorothy, the endeavor, while giving her quite the adventure and expanding her in the process, helped her learn what she truly wanted and what was most important to her.
When it comes to our endeavors, it behooves us to learn how to discern the “message” of our obstacles. Do we need to stop or change course -OR- do we need to hunker down and push on through ? Here’s where we can develop and use our intuition for inner guidance, ask for help from people we trust, or ask for insight and guidance from a Higher Source ?
How about you ? When it comes to going after a goal or quest, which character from the Wizard of Oz would you be ? Why ? What did that character learn/gain that could be something you could learn/gain as well ?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
