Lesson 098: ”I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation.”
AI Reframe: I accept my role in healing and awakening.
Suggested Exercise:
For the first five minutes of each hour—or whenever feasible—sit quietly to feel the truth of today’s lesson. Begin with saying this:
I will accept my part in God’s* plan for salvation**.
From the lesson:
“Each hour today give Him* your tiny gift of but five minutes. ²He will give the words you use in practicing today’s idea the deep conviction and the certainty you lack. ³His words will join with yours, and make each repetition of today’s idea a total dedication, made in faith as perfect and as sure as His in you. ⁴His confidence in you will bring the light to all the words you say, and you will go beyond their sound to what they really mean. ⁵Today you practice with Him, as you say”:
I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation.
“In each five minutes that you spend with Him, He will accept your words and give them back to you all bright with faith and confidence so strong and steady they will light the world with hope and gladness. ²Do not lose one chance to be the glad receiver of His gifts, that you may give them to the world today.”
“Give Him the words, and He will do the rest”.(ACIM, W-98.7:1–9:1)
* The Course defines “Him[God]” as an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message.
** Salvation is simply the choice to let go of guilt and see the world—and everyone in it—through the eyes of love, thereby waking up from the dream of separation.

Message
This is where the rubber meets the road. We’ve worked through the first 97 lessons, gaining insight into A Course in Miracles. Today we’re invited to actually accept our part in God’s plan—to remember and act from our natural state of peace, love, and joy.
Without that acceptance, we have one foot in and one foot out. We’re teetering between the ego-mind and the Divine-mind. Where’s the peace in that?
Looking at my bookshelf of self-help books, I see how many I’ve read, partially read, or never opened. What do they all have in common? I rarely put any of them into practice.
I now see that buying more self-help books is my ego-mind’s way of tricking me into thinking I’m growing. And I am—a little. But until I take action, I stay stuck in my comfort zone. Right where the ego feels safe.
Now when I feel the urge to buy or borrow another book, I hear my True Self say: “You don’t need it. You already know this. Time to act.”
That’s what today’s lesson says. We know God’s plan for us is happiness. We know salvation is choosing to see the light in ourselves and others. Now it’s time to put that knowledge into action by doing our part. Sitting on the sidelines delays our salvation and the world’s.
Spending a few minutes each hour to remember who we are, our role in salvation, and our Divine connection replenishes our peace, love, and joy—and offers us our next Divinely inspired action.
Here’s how I do it. I stop what I’m doing and take a deep breath with the intention of connecting with my higher Source. Then I ask myself of all the actions I could take right now, which one serves me best? Almost instantly I get an answer. Usually I sense it internally. Other times I use my body as a pendulum to receive the insight.
With today’s lesson we get to decide: do we want to continue to idle on the side of the road or put it in gear on the highway?
“The big stuff, all the important stuff, goes on seamlessly without me having to do a darned thing.”
