346 – Big Sunflower Mandala
I found this gorgeous mandala-like sunflower painting by a wonderful local artist friend, Debby Sundbaum-Sommers, of http://www.DebsArt.net. As well as painting beautifully warm and inviting watercolor landscapes, she also creates dramatic landscape prints.
345 – Muffin Tin Mandalas
Today’s MotD comes to us via yet another amazingly talented local artist, Agnes Barton Sabo, a.k.a. Betty Turbo! She creates these delightfully fun, retro art pieces, including this one, containing some delectable combination of food, whimsey and a very creative imagination. Can you see all the mandala shapes in this piece?
343 – Brain Convo Mandala
Along with being an amazing artist and printmaker, I’m happy to showcase Willamette Valley (local) artist, Gale Everett, who creates these fantastic 3D sculptures that I just love. This one especially…look at all those mandalas! She made this one with waxed mulberry paper cones, wire and a hemlock frame. It definitely sparks the imagination…or rather, brain. 🙂
342 – Jasper Cocoon Pendant Mandala
Today I showcase a local artist and friend out of Alpine, Oregon. Jewelry artisan, Jan O’Banion, of Jan E O Jewelry, forged this powerful jasper and German silver pendant loaded with mandala-like shapes. I love the vibrant red of the jasper seeming to be protected within the dramatic silver cocoon.
341 – Garden Gate Mandala
Check out this delightful garden gate art designed and collaboratively built by an amazing local metal artist, Karen Lee-Thompson, of Arts Imaginarium. She also happens to be a wonderful friend, singer, musician, and improv player! AND…she creates exquisite mosaics and precious metal jewelry. Awesome stuff!

Corvallis potter extraordinaire, Cynthia Spencer, of Spencer Work in Clay, created this delightful stacking ceramic sculpture in sunset colors for the outdoors…bringing whimsey to the garden.
