Cottage Grove mixed media artist, Shannon Weber, created these amazing art pieces from pieces of Mother Nature entitled “Life Guard Towers.” She used beaver sticks, knotless knitting, wax linen on found beach glass, and kelp bulbs: carved, stitched and woven. I love how her very creative imagination could take all of these individual pieces and put them all together in such delightful ways.

356 – Violetta Mandala
Philomath fiber artist, Laura G. Berman, created this delightful felted sculptured vessel entitled, “Violetta” … and the attached top opens! Notice all the cute little purple mandalas adorning the entire piece. Even the vessel itself forms a mandala.

Macrame and beading artist, Cece Cormier (The Beading Yogini), created this delightful macrame mandala barrette secured entirely by knots. I love her color combinations…reminds me of neapolitan ice cream: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.

This takes being creative with yarn to a whole new level.
In June, Parisian artist Atelier YokYok created this beautiful net-like design in collaboration with metal sculptor Ulysse Lacoste at St. Stephen’s Cathedral. It is one of the three winning entries for the 2015 Cahors Juin Jardins, in Cahors, France.

I found this cute wreath project on the Fabric Textile Warehouse web site. What a fun way to make use of old, neglected spools of thread…come on, you know you have a shoe box full of varying lengths of thread laying around the house somewhere.
