During our 1996 trip to Paris I remember we visited La Basilique du Sacré Coeur de Montmartre (how could we forget–it’s quite spectacular) however somehow we missed noticing the doors…to be fair it was pre-Mandala Lady days.
Professional photographer, Virginia Jones captured this beautiful image of the basilica’s magnificent front doors as a post on her “Paris Through My Lens” blog site.
Check out the mandalas all over these doors…especially those amazing door pulls, with its rather pronounced lion head center, the strong lines surrounding the head, and finishing with the delicate floral-like pattern around the outer edge. How fascinating that even the wear and tear on the doors (near the bottom) form almost perfect mandalas as well.
And from this great photo by Sebastian Bergmann, you can see that more than just the doors consist of mandala-like structures.

Today’s MotD makes me want to rethink the look of our rather boring front door. How about you?
Happy Coloring!
