I started 2015 with one dear friend’s coloring of one of my mandalas, Celia from Corvallis. I close out the year with another dear friend’s coloring, Michelle Miller from San Jose, CA. She magnificently colors a lot of my mandalas and I truly appreciate her dedication, tenacity, style and perspective! And she happens to be the sister of yesterday’s colorer, Jeffrey. It makes my heart sing when a family colors together!
I really love her powerful coloring of the May 2011 Mandala of the Month entitled: Is that a fact? Her coloring shows us how using just a few colors, you can really make a statement! To me her particular coloring of this one feels like it’s all about bringing the truth to light…both within ourselves and in the world around us, which is quite appropriate given that we here in America will be bombarded with all kinds of political info during this presidential election year…it behooves us to put forth this question A LOT to the media and to all the candidates! And I find it very cool that she calls this one “Atlantis.”
Mainly this mandala of the month wants us to look more at our personal truth. Are our thoughts and beliefs an actual fact? For 2016…let’s pay attention to our inner dialogue and ask of ourselves, continuously, “is that a fact?” If it is, then we can decide whether to keep it or to change it. However, if the thought/belief is not a fact, than follow the guidance of October 2015’s Mandala of the Month: call it out as “balderdash!”
Michelle’s coloring today encourages us to question everything…and allow the truth to reveal itself…in a delightful, inspiring way.
