2016-001 – Firefly Mandalas

Fireflies by Takashi Zenihiro
Vortex of Light by Takashi Zenihiro

Welcome to 2016!

We begin this new year in the julian calendar with this delightful photograph captured by Japanese photographer Takashi Zenihiro which he calls a “vortex of light.” He set up his camera about 20 inches up from the ground and then awaited the arrival of the fireflies…a vast number of them, creating these beautiful mandalas of light floating in the air.

Which inspires this week’s MotD theme: In the Air

Visit his other stunning landscape photos on his National Geographic profile page.

Inspiration For Today

Takashi’s photo reminds us that we too are Beings of Light. Let this be the year where we all choose to let our Inner Light shine…thus creating a human Vortex of Light all over the world. Let’s do it!

Happy Coloring!
