This week’s MotD theme: In the Air
Check out this fantastic aerial view of a hot air balloon photographed by Euge Wheelwright of Turnditch, Derbyshire. It won the Telegraph UK “Big Picture of the Week” prize in 2009. From the side most balloons have an upside-down teardrop shape; yet from above it forms into a beautiful, and in this case colorful, mandala.
For anyone struggling with choosing colors for their mandala colorings, notice the variations in color choices here. We can see how the shapes are symmetrical around the “mandala” and yet the color choices are very much asymmetrical; creating this delightful almost-kaleidoscope effect. So let go of any concerns about what colors to use…just choose as the spirit moves us.
And how cool is it to have such a luscious green field as the background for this “lollipop” balloon.
Inspiration For Today
When in a quandary about something or someone, Euge’s photo inspires us to look at it from a different perspective; to rise above it for a bigger-picture view. We might be wonderfully surprised by what we see and learn!
If you would want your mandala or your idea for a mandala to be considered for the “Mandala of the Day”, read about how on the Participate page. It’s easy! Or recommend one you’ve seen via my Contact page.
