New Week::New Theme: Yin Yang
Amazing UK tattoo artist, Chris Green, based at Redwood Tattoo Studio in Manchester, inked this very unique, dimensional and beautiful version of the Yin Yang symbol on the back of his little sister Josette’s left shoulder for her 18th birthday…what a great brother!
I love how he combined two different types of owls for this dualistic mandala-like design: the darker horned owl and the lighter barn owl. While he maintained the balance and basic structure of the yin yang symbol, he allowed each owl to have its own personality and characteristics.

Chris’s tattoo design reminds us:
- to play with basic designs and structures, giving them our own unique and creative spin to them
- in a symbolic way, to embrace our differences while finding common ground
- and going ever deeper, that we can maintain our own individuality while participating harmoniously in a very diverse collective human society
