2016-030 – Orange Mandala

Slicing Oranges by Tori Avey

This week’s MotD theme: Foods in the Raw

Along with sharing this beautiful mandala-like arrangement of an orange surrounded by orange slices, film and television producer, screenwriter, and food blogger, Tori Avey, also shares with us how to easily slice oranges in this manner. How fun (and possibly confusing) that this fruit is named for its color…or is it that the color is named after the fruit? Anyway…

Looking at this photo brings this thought to mind: any way you slice it, it’s still an orange…it only matters in how you want to experience it.

The orange really is an exquisite example of one of Mother Nature’s perfect foods…and it’s round! AND JUST LOOK AT THE COLOR! Simply gorgeous.

What Tori says about herself:

I am fascinated by the history of food and the stories behind our favorite recipes– why we eat what we eat, how cultural foods have evolved, and how yesterday’s recipes can inspire us in the kitchen today.

Inspiration for Today

Tori’s orange reminds us that regardless of how we present ourselves or what we chose to do or be, or how we chose to experience our lives, we are who we are…through and through…and it’s perfect.

Happy Coloring!

If you would want your mandala or your idea for a mandala to be considered for the “Mandala of the Day”, read about how on the Participate page. It’s easy! Or recommend one you’ve seen via my Contact page.
