This week’s MotD theme: Here Comes the Sun
Norwegian architect and photographer, Isabelle Bacher, captured this extraordinary shot of last year’s total solar eclipse as seen in Norway. I love the exquisite crispness of this photo. The brilliance of the sun’s outer glow really stands out against the dark pinpoint of the moon.
Showcased on 2015 National Geographic Photo of the Day site on October 17, here’s what they state about the photo:
Like a celestial version of a child’s night-light, a solar eclipse gleams over the mountains of Spitsbergen, Norway. But those who witnessed the event were—hopefully—happy not to have slept through it, including Isabelle Bacher, who submitted the photo and described the scene so “just magical.”

Inspiration for Today
Isabelle’s photo reminds us of the importance of being patience and doing the prep work so that when opportunity knocks, we’re ready.
