This week’s MotD theme: The Color Red
Photographer, George Thomas, shot this beautiful photo of Oklahoma’s historic Arcadia Round Barn located along famed Route 66. Built in 1898 and restored after years of neglect in 1992, this landmark structure is 60′ diameter and 45′ tall. It was designed round with the idea that it would withstand tornados. Whether the science supports this notion or not, the barn is still standing. I just love that it’s round AND it’s red. Very cool!

I find it fascinating that Dr. Thomas Barnes‘ photo was the MotD on February 22 and now George Thomas‘s photo of the Arcadia barn is today’s MotD. I love when stuff like this happens. 🙂
BTW…just in case you’re curious about it, read the Farmers Almanac post: “Why are Barns Painted Red?”
Inspiration for Today
The Arcadia Round Barn inspires us to evaluate what in our lives is worth restoring/keeping and what is better off being allowed to fall by the wayside.
Happy Coloring!
