This week’s MotD theme: Round Critter Faces
Nature photographer, Charlotte L. Richardson, of Mermaid Underwater Pholographic, shot this beautiful, up-close-and-personal, photo of an Icelandic puffin’s face. What a speculative work of art! I love the symbol-like markings and the patterns as well as the circles of the eye, the white area of the face, and the rather abstract marigold thinge at the joint of its beak (I’m sure there’s a technical name for it which you’re welcome to mention in the comments, if you’d like).
We started diving and photographing underwater in 1987.
We produced our first underwater slide show in 1988, starting with one projector, then moving to two and eventually three projectors.
…We like to see other people’s underwater slide shows. So we are doing what we can to encourage and to help people to make underwater slide shows.
Check out many of their spectacular photo galleries via the left column of their home page.
Inspiration for Today
Like Charlotte’s puffin, symbols and patterns show up everywhere. As we go about our day, take note of where you spot them…especially in nature. See if you can incorporate any of these patterns in your coloring.
If you would want your mandala or your idea for a mandala to be considered for the “Mandala of the Day”, read about how on the Participate page. It’s easy! Or recommend one you’ve seen via my Contact page.
