This week’s MotD theme: Blue
Molten glass artist, Mark Matthews, created this stunning blue swirl marble called Blueberry Aventurine (check out the link for other beautiful photos of this marble). I love the intergalactic look of this swirling piece of blue artistry with its accent colors of green and purple. These colors come together in tight spirals (out of view) at both poles of the sphere.
BTW…the two bright white dots are reflections created from lamps.
About his glass spheres:
My goal is to explore the ways radically different designs and techniques can be used within a well-defined category such as spheres. The sphere, with its minimal physicality, has become the one factor unifying all my explorations of color systems and diverse historical glass techniques.

Inspiration for Today
Mark’s exquisite spheres inspire us to do more than just settle for being only good enough at something. Let’s take it beyond our comfort zone, striving for excellence, ever expanding and growing as the spirit moves us.
Happy Coloring!
