This week’s MotD theme: April Showers Bring May Flowers
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: April Showers Bring May Flowers (from Sunday’s MotD post). When I thought about painting this mandala, I immediately saw the “rain drops” as pieces of wood that turn into flower petals when they spiral down and attach themselves to the centerpiece. At first I thought about how odd this imagery was, then I do like I always do…I go with it anyway trusting that it will make sense along the way.
While painting it, I kept hearing this phrase “would that I could, would that I could, would that I could”, which to me sounds more like a line we use when we make an excuse for passing on doing something else.
In this mandala’s context, the “something else” is something we really want to do (or be) but because of some deep-rooted fears, we find excuses to ignore it, suppress it, hide it away, pass on it.
Inspiration for Today
Today’s MotD encourages us to follow through on our dreams…in some way, shape or form. That these ideas of ours, that float around in our heads, nagging us to pay attention to them, want to go beyond just being a thought or idea. They want to be made into form. It’s up to us to make it so! Our mantra for today:
I can do this!
If you would want your mandala or your idea for a mandala to be considered for the “Mandala of the Day”, read about how on the Participate page. It’s easy! Or recommend one you’ve seen via my Contact page.
