New Week::New Theme: Ring of Fire
Photographer and passionate astronomy hobbyist, Jia Hao, went to Western Australia in May 2013 to create this spectacular composite photo of the Annular Solar Eclipse as it came up over the horizon. Stunning!
Can you imagine what it must have been like for people ages ago to see this happening in the sky before they knew what it actually was? It’s fascinating how two mandala-like orbs (sun and moon) come together and form a third mandala: a ring of fire.
From the TimeAndDate.com web site:
An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon covers the Sun’s center, leaving the Sun’s visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or annulus around the Moon.
BTW…On September 1 of this year, an annular solar eclipse occurs over Africa, near the equator.

Inspiration For Today
Today’s MotD reminds of the power of cooperation:
whenever two or more are gathered as one…magic happens.
Happy Coloring!
