Wes and Josh of Colorado Soundscapes handcraft Kalimbas and Mribas (African thumb pianos). Today’s mandala focuses on their Lamellaes (electric Kalimbas). What a beautiful work of art they created. Love their mandala-like logo as well as the earthy wood round shape of the instrument.
About what they do…
Our passion is to create beautiful and unique instruments with high quality sound. We are always looking for ways to reinvent or improve upon traditional instrument design. The kalimba or mbira is one of the world’s oldest instruments and was the first redesign we set out to accomplish. Our goal for this instrument is to create the world’s best sounding, professional quality, and precision tuned kalimba. We love creating new sounds and usually have some kind of prototype in development at our workshop.
