This week’s MotD theme: Tis the Season for Peace

In the Village of Ossining New York, sculptor James Havens of Woodville, Ohio, created this creative version of the peace symbol entitled “Let’s Roll.” It was one of 25 sculptures created for “Ossining 3D” an outdoor exhibit celebrating Ossining’s bicentennial. As an added bonus the city was awarded the President’s Award at ArtsWestchester’s Arts Award 2014, the most prestigious awards event of the year.

While the exhibit has ended, the city secured three sculptures for permanent display including “Let’s Roll.”

About this piece (peace) he states:

I intend that my sculptures should contain enough information that the viewer is not confused or mystified by the artist’s intent. I wish to be considered a good journeyman ironworker who demonstrates a high degree of craftsmanship while using only the best materials to create enduring sculptures that speak to the highest aspirations of the human spirit.

Inspiration for Today

Always strive to do and be our best even if to others it may seem otherwise.

Is this the best you can do?
for today, yes it is
tomorrow?
well that’s another day

Happy Coloring!
