This Week’s Theme: Instagram

This week I’m showcasing 5 of the many wonderful artisans I’m following on Instagram. I will definitely need to do this theme again and again.

Turkish woodcarver, Nilüfer Ünal, (nilufermoda ), posted her Celtic-styled carving of the “Tree of Life” earlier this year on Instagram. I love the rich 3D texture of her “round” tree upon the smooth, simple design and colors of the square background and trim. Beautiful!

About Nilüfer:

I began my creative adventure with woodcraft in 2008. Traditional turkish arts were my original inspirations. After a few collages I made, I’ve found my own unique voice.

All of my works are one of a kind. They have the special feeling of hand made items. I shape them with love by using coping saws and carving blades. I finish my products with acrylic paint.

Shaping wood is a passion for me and I love sharing it with people.

View more of her wood art via her Instagram page or her Etsy shop.

Inspiration for Today

“The meaning of life is not to be discovered only after death in some hidden, mysterious realm; on the contrary, it can be found by eating the succulent fruit of the Tree of Life and by living in the here and now as fully and creatively as we can.” ~ Paul Kurtz

Happy Coloring!
