“Sometimes the smallest step
in the right direction ends up being
the biggest step of your life.
Tiptoe if you must, but take a step.”
― Naeem Callaway
“If you can’t go in leaps and bounds,
then go in baby steps and nudges,
but keep moving forward.”
— Doe Zantamata
“Baby steps will take you
all the way up Mount Everest
if you just keep taking them.”
— Mary Morrissey
Today’s mandala reminds us that sometimes the best movement forward is taking a baby step. With that one step, we gain momentum, confidence, and inspiration to take the next step. Before we know it, we can take bigger and bigger steps. It’s the first one that’s usually the most challenging.
And quite honestly, the most common reason for keeping us from moving forward is some form of fear. So really, it’s not so much the baby step that is scary it’s the decision to take that first step. To which this quote sums up today’s MotD perfectly (and one my personal favorites):
“The most difficult thing is
the decision to act,
the rest is merely tenacity.
The fears are paper tigers.
You can do anything you decide to do.
You can act to change
and control your life; and the procedure,
the process is its own reward.”
― Amelia Earhart
