22-094 Merrily

Today’s Mandala

“Tis a sure sign work goes on merrily,
when folks sing at it.”

— Isaac Bickerstaffe

“The hero is a mind of such balance
that no disturbances can shake [their] will,
but pleasantly, and, as it were, merrily
[they advance to their] own music,
alike in frightful alarms and in the tipsy
mirth of universal dissoluteness.”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Skip merrily along.”

— Val Beedamon

Today’s MotD offers up a suggested state of mind: going about our day in a cheerful, merrily way. Of course we have free will and can choose any state of mind as we see fit, either consciously or by default. And yet how grand would it be for all of us to merrily, merrily roll along.

“Rapidly, merrily,
Life’s sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily
Enjoy them as they fly!”

— Charlotte Bronte
