Today’s Mandala
Simplicity
“I have just three things to teach:
— Lao Tzu
simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.”
“Simplicity in character,
— Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
in manners, in style;
in all things
the supreme excellence is simplicity.”
“Truth is ever to be found in simplicity,
— Isaac Newton
and not in the multiplicity
and confusion of things.”
Today’s MotD reminds us to KISS: keep it simple, sweetheart. When in doubt, go the simplest route. Too often we complicate things, usually to distraction. It’s worth the extra moments to contemplate how best we can do what we need to do, in the simplest way.
Simplicity can apply to every area of lives, internally and externally. Do we really need all the stuff we have? More stuff means more energy needed to maintain our stuff. And what about our inner stuff? Do we really need all the outdated beliefs, conditioning, and rules that keep us from being true to our Authentic Selves?
Today’s mantra: Where can I simplify today?
For fun, here’s comedian George Carlin’s rant on ”Stuff”:
