Today’s Mandala
Petals
“…do the best you can where you are.
— Orison Swett Marden
Open your petals of power and beauty
and fling out the fragrance
of your life
in the place
that has been assigned to you.”
“The soul unfolds itself,
— Khalil Gibran
like a lotus of countless petals.”
“Life is a stream
— Amy Lowell
On which we strew
Petal by petal
The flower of our heart.”
Today’s MotD presents two ways to view our lives, both as individuals and as part of humanity as a whole. Individually, each life experience, each up and down, each chapter can be represented by a petal on a flower. All together they make the flower that is us. Collectively, we can see that each petal of a flower represents each individual coming together to form a singular flower.
It’s the collection of petals that makes a flower, without them, it’s just a stem. So dare to add more petals to our lives. Dare to express ourselves as part of the collective. It all just begs these two questions: What type of flower do we want to be? And what type of flower to we want to be part of?
We can get help with the answer to these questions from the Almanac web site, which provides a long list of flowers and their meanings.
