22-179 Crown

Today’s Mandala
Crown

“Crowns aren’t made of rhinestones.
They are made of
discipline, determination,
and a hard to find alloy called courage.”

— Tessa Ridley

“The crown chakra is located
several inches above the head,
but it is not connected.
The crown chakra,
also known as the
thousand-petal lotus of light,
references the planes of light,
of enlightenment.”

— Frederick Lenz

“The seventh chakra, Sahaswara,
is our source of enlightenment
and spiritual connection to all that is.
It is a connection to our higher selves,
to every being on the planet,
and ultimately the divine energy
that creates everything
in the universe.”

— from Chopra.com crown chakra page

Today’s MotD invites us to explore and embrace the energy center know as the Crown Chakra or Sahaswara. Focusing on this energy center in meditation helps to give us a clearer connection to our higher self and the insight it has to offer. The colors purple, gold, and/or white are often associated with this center.

The simplest way to tap into it is to close our eyes (if it’s safe to do so) and imagine breathing in and out through the top of our head. Setting an intention or question prior to doing this, can give us a deeper experience. We may find visualizing or sensing its related colors can also help. Like anything, the more we practice, the better and faster we become with making this connection.

At the very least, deep breathing through our crown, calms, grounds, and centers our body, mind, and spirit.

Blessings,
