Today’s Mandala
Peek-a-Boo

“I really believe,
when you come out of hiding,
in whatever way you’re hiding,
you get to go out into the sunlight.”

— Christine Quinn

“Be confused,
it’s where you begin
to learn new things.
Be broken,
it’s where you begin to heal.
Be frustrated,
it’s where you start
to make more authentic decisions.
Be sad,
because if we are brave enough
we can hear our heart’s
wisdom through it.
Be whatever you are right now.
No more hiding.
You are worthy, always.

— S. C. Lourie

“Hide not your talents.
They for use were made.
What’s a sundial in the shade?”

— Benjamin Franklin

Today’s MotD encourages us to come out from hiding. Acknowledge the fear, breathe through it, and know that whatever we do we may very well be damned if we do and/or damned if we don’t. The only thing that matters is being true to ourselves (with the caveat that whatever we do does not hinder or harm others in their quest to be true).

Our choice of words can help as well. Turn ”I’m afraid to do this” into ”I’m excited to do this.” It creates a whole different vide, even our hormones change. Another one: “I’m afraid to fail” to ”I’m excited to fail”…wait…what? With failure comes insight. With failure comes learning. With failure comes trying again with this new insight and knowledge. Who knows, the failure may actually lead in the direction we were intended to go all along. We won’t know unless we try.

It’s easy to write about this here, the challenge becomes trusting that whatever happens, we can handle it, which also makes for a great mantra: I can handle it. We can choose to inch our way out or do it full blast, either way the more we come out from hiding, the more authentic we become, the more free we become, and the more empowered we become.

So…Ready or not, here we come!

Blessings,

Maureen
